virtual Breast Cancer Recovery

Why choose Virtual?

1. Power of self Healing

  • When I was recovering from my double mastectomy I was floored by the power of my own fascia. How the twist of my wrist or the rotation of my pelvis can change the feelings in my chest. My fascia was telling me how to move. I knew I wanted to help people recovering from breast surgery experience this dynamic expression of the body.
2. DEEPER CONNECTION WITH YOURSELF

  • If you had a single or double mastectomy, with or without spacers or reconstruction, you've had a very large amputation. The fascia starts healing right away as do the nerves that have been cut during the surgery. With early guidance I can help you attempt to recover as much sensation as possible and to decrease your chances of having tightness and pain in your chest. (avoid Iron bra)

3. Ability to sink into a healing space and quiet your mind

  • My body did not want to do reps and sets of exercise. I wanted to sink into a stretch and hold it. I valued the feed back from my body. I wanted to help my body heal and quiet my mind. Healing from cancer takes focus and a quiet mind is important. This is why meditation is a signature part of our treatments together.

4. Being with a survivor and a physical therapist in your own quiet healing environment

  • I teach you how to listen to your body and make suggestions to further your healing. Every call starts with a check in both mental and physical as we start to move and listen and explore to return your body to full expression and joy.

Why is meditation/quieting the mind important

Your body has been through a lot. Your mind has been reeling to find answers to stay alive and to rid yourself of cancer. This is tiring work. When the decisions have been made and it's time to heal it's important the we give the mind a rest and give the body the microphone. It has a lot to tell us. If we can tune in, we can experience a very deep healing.

I recommend that virtual sessions take place in your healing space, yes you need a healing space.
You are recovering from a major surgery and treatments that have taken a toll on your body.

This space can be your bedroom, on your bed or another queit room in your home where you can lie down and move your body.

We will explore your front, sides and back body (depending on where you are in your recovery) to unlock tightness or adhesions in your fascia and add functional movements to return to painfree function.

I recommend you attend the sessions on your laptop so that you can see me and I can see you clearly.
